After the Global Just Recovery Gathering, 350Africa.org is hosting workshops and climate literacy trainings to build awareness of the climate crisis and momentum towards a mobilisation in September. There are already many different initiatives with the same goal lead by partner and other organisations. In order to not duplicate what is already happening, we have decided to document and promote the workshops already taking place. See list of workshops below.
25 May – Transforming Africa’s Biggest Polluter: Green New Eskom
Join 350Africa.org and the Climate Justice Coalition as we launch our new booklet on a Green New Eskom – the campaign to push for a rapid and just transition to renewable energy for Eskom and South Africa more broadly. The webinar will share the details of the new booklet and the campaign’s vision for a Green New Eskom. It will also detail how you can be involved and take action to help transform Africa’s biggest climate polluter into a force for climate justice. Watch the recording here.

About the workshop:
We have commissioned leading researchers and heterodox economists to bring together ideas for a Climate Justice Deal for SA. Researchers will present their papers at our workshop on Friday, after which we will develop and launch the final Climate Justice Deal for South Africa – later in the year.
We invite your participation in this process and your input into the CJ deal.
