350.org is one of more than 160 organizations working together to stop the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP). We collaborate with frontline communities, civil society partners, and environmental groups to challenge this project and the systems enabling it. Our role includes critical support in campaign coordination, supporting local resistance, and helping increase pressure on banks and insurers involved.
Through protests, litigation, direct advocacy, and public campaigning, this coalition has already pushed back the project timeline and cut off much of its international financing.
The East African Crude Oil Pipeline, if built, would become the longest heated crude oil pipeline in the world. It threatens to displace 100,000 people, damage protected natural areas, and pollute critical water sources across Uganda and Tanzania.
Working with coalition partners to organize Global Days of Action, with rallies in Uganda, Tanzania, Europe, and the US. Supporting frontline activists facing repression, including legal threats and intimidation.
Collaborating with partner organizations to pressure banks and insurers to withdraw support through coordinated campaigns. Together, we’ve successfully pushed 40+ major banks 30 insurers to rule out funding EACOP.
Supporting Project Affected Communities (PAP), local groups and human right organizations through strategic coordination as they expose the project’s violations and block its progress through litigation and policy advocacy.

If built, the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) would be the longest heated crude oil pipeline in the world and is expected to cause large-scale displacement of communities and pose grave risks to protected environments, water sources and wetlands in both Uganda and Tanzania.
The East African Crude Oil Pipeline needs to be stopped and we have a plan to do exactly that.
