This May (5-13), during Global Divestment Mobilisation (GDM), we along side Fossil Free South Africa, are under the Go Fossil Free banner calling on Cape Town to become a C40 champion by standing with nearly 100 other cities and local governments that have committed to divest from fossil fuels. GDM aims to enact people power to further stigmatise the fossil fuel industry which is perpetuating the climate crisis.

What we have planned:

From 8-12 May there will be several offline actions and events across Cape Town ramping up the pressure to get a divestment commitment from the city:

• 9 May –  Cape Town Target launch event
• 12 May– Petition Delivery, City Hall
